1) Start in Executive Overview (baseline)

• Review Revenue/FTE, Gross Profit/FTE, and Blended Gross Profit%.
• Use the sidebar Global Assumptions to adjust:
  • Bench (B): planned slack (reduces usable capacity).
  • Pipeline (P) and Retention (C): discount incremental revenue via P×C.
  • Overhead %: used only for Gross Profit basis.
• Check Strategic Insights for quick narrative callouts.

2) Edit the organization (Employees)

• Go to Employees to update fully loaded costs and delivery utilization.
• Use Search and Role filter to find groups quickly.
• Use Add to create a new employee row (saved to your browser).

3) Confirm service economics (Service Categories)

• Go to Service Lines to edit annual revenue and Gross Profit% assumptions.
• This drives the blended baseline KPIs and provides context for scenario assumptions.

4) Run hiring scenarios (Hiring Simulator)

Important: After you click Run, start with the Outcome Summary card. That card is the “answer”. The tables and charts below it show the math behind the answer.

1. Select a scenario (preloaded): Designer, PM (Throughput Unlock), or Media Buyer.
2. Choose a breakeven basis in the left sidebar:
   • Gross Profit: checks if gross profit dollars cover the hire cost.
   • Gross Profit: subtracts overhead (as % of revenue) before comparing to cost.
   • Both: shows both side-by-side (recommended for exec discussions).
3. Click Run. Review:
   • KPI tiles: required revenue/mo vs actual modeled steady-state.
   • Breakeven chart: cumulative Gross Profit$ vs cumulative cost; cumulative Net Profit$.
   • Month-by-month table: ramp, hours, realized revenue, gross profit$, corp admin, cost.
   • Sensitivity table: utilization/impact band vs required revenue and breakeven month.

5) Edit scenario inputs (what-if planning)

• Scroll to Scenario Inputs to adjust cost, utilization/impact, ramp curve, and economics.
• PM scenario: PM does not “bill hours” here; it unlocks capacity by applying ΔU lifts to supported roles.
• Click Save Scenario Inputs to persist changes.

6) Save / Share

• Export JSON (top right) downloads the current dataset and scenarios.
• Reset restores the default sample dataset.

Example walkthrough: “Add 1 Media Buyer”

1. Open Hiring Simulator → select Add 1 Media Buyer → click Run.
2. Read the Outcome Summary badge:
   • Hire is viable = the scenario pays for itself under the selected basis.
   • Viable on Gross Profit, not on Net Profit = the work covers the person’s cost, but not corp admin + cost.
   • Not viable = under current pricing/margins/utilization assumptions, the hire won’t pay for itself.
3. Compare Modeled steady-state revenue vs Required Rev/mo. If modeled is lower, you need a lever: higher price, higher utilization, higher Gross Profit%, or (for PM) higher utilization lift.
4. Use the Sensitivity table to see what utilization/impact makes it break even within 12 months.

Common interpretation shortcuts

• If Required Rev/mo (Gross Profit) is less than expected incremental revenue, the hire is operationally viable.
• If Required Rev/mo (Gross Profit) is much higher, overhead is the binding constraint (pricing and/or overhead structure may need adjustment).
• If breakeven is not reached within 12 months, adjust: rate, Gross Profit%, utilization, ramp, corp admin, or (for PM) the utilization lift and supported team size.

What it does

• Provides an executive overview with service-line mix and key productivity KPIs.
• Lets you edit a 25-person marketing agency dataset (employees + service lines).
• Runs a hiring-threshold simulator for Designer, PM (throughput unlock), and Media Buyer.
• Shows Gross Profit vs Net Profit breakeven, month-by-month tables, and utilization sensitivity.

Data storage

Changes are saved in localStorage in your browser. Use Reset to restore the sample dataset.

Notes

This is a frontend-only demo (no authentication, no backend). For a product, you’d connect it to your persistence layer (e.g., RESTful Table API) and add tenant separation.
